Case Study: DevelopmentEngine® and Individual Development Plans Situation: Fortune 50 Company had designed a process to support development of a core group of behaviors it expected of its leaders. The process included a customized 360-degree feedback instrument, personal coaches and individual development plan. To test the value of DevelopmentEngine, two groups of director-level managers were compared. Both completed the 360º feedback process, were assigned coaches and were encouraged to discuss their goals and efforts with their managers. One of the two groups was provided with access to DevelopmentEngine, which they used to support their progress every 3 weeks for 15 weeks. At the end of that period, both groups were surveyed and the results compared. Results: DevelopmentEngine contributed to the development and coaching process. It significantly increased the amount of interaction between the participants and their managers and coaches. Every participant indicated that using DevelopmentEngine had prompted them to have discussions with their coach or manager and that it helped them stay focused on their continued development. Every participant agreed that DevelopmentEngine had facilitated their progress and highly rated both its value and ease of use. Over 80% wanted DevelopmentEngine made available to their direct reports. |
