About Us

Marilyn Martin is an independent consultant and advisor to organizations looking to foster continuous improvement, innovation, and learning so that their people become more effective, both personally and professionally. She is a specialist in workplace learning and workforce development, group facilitation, process mapping and improvement, competency prototyping and development, and knowledge management. Some of Ms. Martin’s past projects include:
Ms. Martin has served as a corporate instructor for Instructional Systems Design Principles, Human Performance Technology Theory, Systems Thinking, Training and Facilitation Skills, Teambuilding, and Management and Leadership Development. She has led action research teams in the investigation of instructional philosophies and methodologies and organizational barriers to learning, as well as collaborated with private research organizations to investigate barriers to eLearning and how line managers may be used as agents of employee development. As a result of exemplary performance, Ms. Martin earned three prestigous industry certifications. She holds a Senior Professional HR (SPHR) certification from the Society of Human Resource Management, a Certified Performance Technologist (CPT) designation from the International Society of Performance Improvement, and a Certified Knowledge Manager (CKM) from the Knowledge and Innovation Management Professional Society. Her professional affiliations include the following:
Ms. Martin was presented the Anne Durram Robinson Award in 2004 by the Austin chapter for her commitment to lifelong learning. She contributes time to her profession by serving as the 2005 Vice Persident of Programming for the Austin Human Resource Management Association and was recently elected to serve as the 2006 Vice President of that association’s annual conference. She provides pro bono services to a number of non-profit organizations throughout Central Texas. Ms. Martin also serves on the Lower Colorado River Authority Citizens
Advisory Panel, a reflection of her commitment to the environmental preservation
and economic and recreational development of the Texas Highland Lakes
and surrounding Hill Country, where she makes her home. |
