About Us

George Sweazey is one of the three principals of the Executive Development Group (EDG) in Greensboro, North Carolina. His focus is on custom-designed programs for executive coaching and executive teams. Before founding EDG, George spent twelve years at the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) in Greensboro. His responsibilities there covered a broad range of executive development activities including: needs assessment, program design, leadership training and one-on-one executive coaching. He was also the manager of the Creating Team Innovation program, which focused on custom-designed programs for executive teams. He has provided leadership training and one-to-one coaching for executives in the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Europe, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Australia. He has a special interest in the leadership development and organizational development needs of health care practitioners, and has done consulting and training for physicians, nurses, dentists, and other health professionals. Before working at CCL, George worked for six years as the program director of the North Carolina Outward Bound School. In that capacity he designed and conducted a number of experiential education programs for executive development and team development. George has also taught business administration courses and has worked as a financial systems analyst. George has an MBA from George Washington University and has completed graduate work in counseling at the University of North Carolina. |
